What is this shit?

What is this shit? Well, a rad music writer told me I should setup a substack newsletter to share with the general public (and mostly my friends) what I am up to with my career. So I created this newsletter.

Why is it called Southern Dispatches? Well, I live in the South. In the new all-blue Georgia. In Savannah, the states oldest city. One of the countries oldest cities.

Music is what I care the most about. Writing about music, about bands, about scenes, stories behind the music are the subjects that interest me the most and the center focus of my writing.

My goal, my hope for the future of my writing, is to share the best stories from Southern musicians. That’s it—Dispatches to the world from the New South.

The New South is a changing place who’s brutal history is ever present and but also where its musical cultural has been exported the world over.
